The next comment is to Candice at Glenbrae school, here is the thoughtful comment I left for her (:
It says " Hi Candice! I'm Coralee and I come from Tamaki Primary School. I saw your blog and I just want to say good work, I love that you put lots of detail, but next time can you explain more about the subject. Thanks (:" Here is the Link to her blog.

The next comment is to Charles, and here is the helpful comment I left him.

Tsunami

Tsunami

WALT: Research about Natural Disasters

What Is A Natural Disaster?

If you didn't know what an Natural Disaster is, well here I am going to tell you! So a Natural Disaster is not man made, and what I mean by ¨Man made¨ I am referring to human. A Natural Disaster is naturally made, because of the EarthÅ› movement. But I believe that humans are contributing to some of the Natural Disasters we have on Earth.

How Does A Tsunami Happen?

Have you ever wondered how does a Tsunami happen? Well your in luck cause today I am going to tell you!

The reason Tsunami happens is because of the ocean due to a recent Earthquake. A Tsunami is a series of waves  formed by the sudden movements of the ocean because of a Earthquake, Landslides and a Major Volcanic Eruption. Now let me tell you how they affect a Tsunami, so the landslide is on the seafloor because the land slump to the ocean floor, and the same thing to a Major Volcanic Eruption.

Are Human Actions Contributing To Why Tsunami Exist?

No, because an Earthquakes is a natural thing that the Earth does. And an Landslide is natural just like an Earthquake, well but Landslides are created because of an Earthquake, so those are connected. An a Major Volcanic Eruption is normal as well because everyone knows that a Volcano erupting is a very normal thing that happens, it's just what Volcanoes do.

How Did Tsunami Gets Its Name?

Tsunami is a Japanese word, that mean Harbor wave. Tsu in Japanese stands for Harbor, and Nami in Japaneses means Wave. When you put them both together you get Tsunami.

Maths

Math

WALT: Learn our basic fast of percentages, decimals, fraction, division and multiplication using materials.

After morning tea we came inside the classroom and sat down. We waited for the teacher to come back into the class and tell us what to do next. Ms, Komor came back in the classroom and she told us to get a pencil and sit at the other side, and to get into groups of 4.

Me, Carra, Akih and Faafiu sat at the same table, but then Miss Kelly came to tell us that Kapa Haka people had to go to the hall, sadly Carra was in Kapa Haka so she grabbed her book and went to the hall. Ms Komor put Tevita in our group. Then Ms, Komor told us to get a Maths game from the cabinet. We told him to get playing card or dices, but he came back with both, she told it away from us and we just had the dice. "Okay so we have the dice, oooh! we could play with game where you roll the dice and whatever number it lands on we have to times it by that number" Akih said, we all agreed and started playing. We played other games and then Ms, Komor swapped me and Stephany so I went to Lydia, Grace, Edith and Hevani. We played the games then we realized we were doing it all over again so we got another game to play.

Ms Komor got us a game and it was similar to the one we were already playing, we all got the cards and started to play, but when we were done we got some playing cards and we were going to do a addition game with them. This is how you play, so first you put down a card, and then whatever numbers in on the table or whatever, you have to add it and the first one to add it all up and say it gets a point, and the one with the most points wins. but before I knew it, Maths was over so we put all the Maths games away and sat back at our tables and did a reflection about it.

First Block

What I did In The First Block

Today for the start of our second day of school we talked about what we learnt yesterday! And yesterday we were talking about our new topic Natural Disasters. In our groups we discussed about Natural Disaster and how does it affect other people.

As we were discussing we first off talked about what is a Natural Disasters, and a Natural Disaster is a problem that is naturally made by the Earth's movement and that  it is not made by man/human. Once we finish discussing Ms, Komor went to some tables and asked them what they discussed at there tables. The next thing we were doing to talk about at our tables was "how does Natural Disaster affect other human-beings?" After Ms. Komor told us to discuss in our groups we came up with lots of ideas! Carra said "They would lose their houses, for example if a Tornado came, the Tornado will destroy the house because it is so strong!" And more!

After we talked about Natural Disaster, Miss Fepuleai told us we were going to be doing a Maths test. She gave us all a token, and we all signed into easttle. Once everyone was signed in we all started with the test. Ms, Komor came around and gave us all a paper just in case we will be needing it during the Maths test. We had 45 minutes to complete 38 questions in silence. The test was very challenging, mostly because I didn't really know most of it but I still gave it my best! But once everyone finished the test we all blogged about what we did in the first blog or last night.

The thing I would improve/work on is my fractions because it is difficult for me, but I still gave it my all and tried my best. And my question for this blog is Why do we have Natural Disasters? I hope you enjoyed reading this blog, bye bye!

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

WALT: Write A Reflection On What We Did On The Holidays And What We Are Looking For, And Our Goals

In the holidays I went to the movies in Botany to watch Ready Player One. I was so excited because it looked like a really cool movie! I sat in the car waiting to arrive at the movies. 20 minutes later, we finally got there! We opened the door and walked into the movie theatre. We bought our tickets and some food to eat as we are watching the movie. We walked down the hall and went in door 5 because that is where the movie is playing. We find our seats and sat down waiting for the movie to start. A few minutes later the movie started to play, we ate our food and watched the movie.

On saturday me, Paige, Paris, Lebron Jordan went to the park at Dunker, it got remodeled so we went to check it out! My sister Jayde dropped us off. We looked at the park and straight  away I ran to the firefox, I grabbed onto the handle and kicked the wood so I could pick up some speed. "That was so fun!" I said, They had a turn on the firefox and straight away they loved it. I went to play with Lebron (Lebron is 4 years old, and I call Lebron Jordan, Lebron for short) Because he was playing all by himself, and he was only 4 years old, and we have to look after him, and make sure he does not get hurt in anyway. I put him on the swing, and started swing him! He asked to go higher but I said no because it might not be safe because he might go flying off and head his head or of his body. But before we knew it we had to leave. Paige called Jayde to pick us up, and once she came (Jayde is the mother or Lebron Jordan, So that makes us Lebrons Aunties and Uncles) Lebron started to cry but we still went home.

What I am looking forward to this term is our new Inquiry subject, we are going to be learning about natural disasters! In my opinion I think it is going to be interesting to learn about because we could learn about how Earthquakes happens and why they happen. The other thing I was looking forward to is Cross Country because last year I did it and I think I could do way better than before because I have experienced what to expect when I am racing other schools, and that I want come in the top 10 because last time I was 12th last time so I want to improve on that!!

Ako Evening Reflection

Ako Evening Reflection

Yesterday we were getting ready for the whole school ako evening! Put tables around the room with classmates display board about what i've down for the Earth and belony but there is a twist! The classes are going to be rotating and going to each class, but as the bell rings you move to the other class BUT! You would be given a piece of paper before you go to the classes you would get a paper with question for each class, and at the class you would have to find the question to the answer in one of the display boards in the classroom.

My unfortunately I had to present my work so I couldn't go around the classes, but after 3 class Ms Aireen said only 1 person could present the presentation about whatever we are presenting, I left and grabbed a board I went to room 4 because that was were everyone else was, I went and looked for the picture and before I knew it, friend came up to me and said "You missed half of it, you missed half of it" all over again I got a little angry at fine because she keep on saying it even though I already told her I already knew, then I said "I ALReadY KnOW!!" But she said it again and everyone around me told her to shut up unfortunately.

We went around the more classes and once we got up to room 8 the teacher said "I ain't suppose to see you right now until the end" so then we went to the room 9 to answer the question, and once the bell rang again we went to room 8 and went around to found the answer. 5 minutes later they started playing kahoot, I loved it last year so I asked Joshua if I can play with him and he said sure. But unfortunately the bell rang, and we went back to room 10.

Matariki Goals

Matariki Goals

For Matariki we had to do a feather on our goals for next term. Here is my feather and what the symbols mean.

I used the divided by symbol because I need to work on my divided bys and reach a level 7 standard. I used the time table symbol because if I want to be better at division I have to learn my timetable and the thing is that I not good at some times tables so like my 9 timetable and my 7 time tables. I used a heart yin yang because I would to show peace and also show manaakitanga which is caring for others, and the last one is a penic because I do not have the best handwriting or the best art skill so I want to work on both of those!

I hoped you liked my feather, Leave a comment!

Solar System

Solar System

This term we are learning about Earth and beyond, and for our task we had to pick a topic related to our learning intention so we picked the Solar System, here is our video about our topic the solar system. I hope you learn something from this video

Visual Art

Visual Art

Here is my reflection

My artwork is a story about how I see day and night as,
I drew a picture/symbol of a samoan pattern and the moon and the sun because this term we were learning about day and night at one point and day and night happens because of the sun and the sun's light reflects onto the moon so the moon reflects that light from the sun and reflects it onto Earth, and the reason why I picked a samona pattern is because I am part samona from my dad side.
