IALA: Athletics

On Tuesday we had athletics which I just so happened didn't go too. 

The reason I didn't go to athletics is because I didn't have anything yellow to wear and I just didn't really want to run or anything this year but I still wished the best for my house. 

I regret not going because it seemed like real fun, and it is my last year at Tamaki Primary so I should of done athletics. Luckily there are relay races on Wednesday so hopefully I get to participate this time.

Sun City

Once upon a time there was a small city in the middle of nowhere, this city was called the Sun City.

The city has a annual celebrations for Animals, and humans to come together and celebrate the new year. But during this special event, a mysterious being appears to whom the being likes. The legends say if someone sees this magical being they are gifted with powers but thats not it… The legends talks about how the being only comes when there is something threatening coming there way.

It was the day of the celebration, I licked my fur and made sure i was ready for the celebration. I stepped out of my cave and started my journey to the sun city. FINALLY! I made it to the Sun city, the heat was intense making my fur puff up, i quickly made it in shouter but it still was really hot, i found some water and drank it. Now it was time for the celebration. 

There were animals and humans everywhere, it looked like they were getting along really well. I made my way to the Sun City temple, and i was amazed on how beautiful it was, there was a beautiful water fountain and stained class represented  the animal king, king zeref. All the animals and humans gathered around for the kings speech. “Welcome to the annual celebration for animals and humans, we are glad you could make it! This year-” before the king could finish my eye caught something in the distant, I chased after it but I couldn’t quite catch there scent. When I finally made it up to the creature I realised that it didn’t have no face no body no claws at all, it was just darkness. SUDDENLY the figure morphed into a human being, i was frightened and scared and I didn’t know what was going on until the figure started to talk. 

“Hello Ezra, there is a terrible threat coming your way, you have to be prepared…” Then the being all of a sudden turned into light, i end up finding myself on the floor…paralyzed. I couldn’t move on bit, my body had tiggles everywhere, i felt like something was clawing up my arms and legs, but I couldn’t brush it off. I was scared, terrified. I ended up falling asleep. 

I woke up on the side of the road, but somewhere else, I walked around but nothing seemed familiar, I started getting angry and frustrated and found myself on fire, but it wasn’t burning me whats so ever, I was really shocked, but before i knew it the fire went away. In confusion I keep thinking how this could of happened, until I remembered the man, the darkness… “It had to be him! But- what does he mean by a terrible threat.” 

As I walked around all i heard was a loud siren noise, it had to been the emergency alert, I ran straight over to the palance and saw the king dead. There was a bunch of humans with guns and spears, I was absolutely horrified, but angry filled up inside me.

For cybersmart, we had to create a fake image and explain the backstory and how it is real, so let's get started!

WE SAW A ALIEN!

As we were walking around tangarakau town we stumbled upon a forest. We were confused and curious so we went into the forest to only look around.

As we were walking about we found a wooden sign saying tangarakau ghost town. We were shocked but didn't pay much attention to get and continue into the forest. As we continually walked through the forest we noticed something, the ground was shaking! We got scared so we climbed the nearby tree and started to record. While recording we were talking about how they were alone in the forest and how someone could we watching us. we started getting scared.

I keeped looking around thinking someone was watching us as i pointed the phone to it just incase we saw something. Thing started to get a little bit too scary so we ran out of the forest and into the car where we drove back home. Later that day we found out that we actually caught something, it looked like a alien! We were so shocked so we posted it in Instagram and told everyone what we saw.

Today for CyberSmart we are learning about the difference between fake and real. We had to answer 9 slides that related to fake images and real ones. 

This task was pretty easy but pretty difficult and the same time since someone of the images actually looked real! The one thing that i found most challenging is probably creating a fake photo since, my group didn't really know how to use pixlr since they never used it before. But luckily i knew how to used it and managed to make a pretty bad edited lemon galaxy, face thing.

WALT: Make things from wood

For Technology I have chosen to make a Piano for myself. I think this is the best choice because you can keep your money and valuables inside. The piano will be used to hide money, passport, Jewelry and more, this will go in my room on the drawers. For this project I will have to consider how the income is gonna turn out and how safe it is to put my stuff in there. 

I am almost done making the Piano. My next steps are to finish the top of it and also blog about how I did it, How I like it and how I can improve. So far it looks good but I still wish to improve it making the joint better because while I was making the joint I didn't notice that the Wood was crooked so I was digging it to far from the gauge but luckily Mr Grundy said it was alright, so I was honestly saved.  

When my name was called I put my hand up and he just took it away, he went over the yellow line so I wasn't able to go past but I remembered that I was always supposed to follow him so I just stayed behind the yellow line. When he took the Piano he sanded it so it was smoother than before which I loved. After that he measured it with a steel ruler and measured how long and big the top is going to be, after he found the measurements he used mbf and make the top of it and used wood to make the inside of the top bit. He took the piano and the top bit make to my working area and glued it together, and now I have to wait 30 minutes or more.

Kia Ora everyone! Today for this blog I am going to be sharing with yous how to have a healthy relationships online and some sentences starters, that could help you leave a positive blog comment on people's blogs.

This task is how to have a positive relationship online while being cybersmart at the same time! In the poster it tells you about how people can catfish you and about how they can also steal your identity! And last of all it talks about how to have a smart relationship with people who you haven't seen in your life, and how sometimes you can't trust them... But it's not always like that, you can trust some people online because personally i've been friends with a person for almost 5 months and in that times I honestly really do trust her, she is amazing even though she might be a man with a voice changer BUT! Nevermind that I do trust them but not really with my private informations because they might just steal my Identity. I hope you enjoy the poster. 

The next post is all about Sentences Starters to how to comment a Thoughtful, Helpful and Positive comment. Because I am a year 8 I had to do 8 Sentences as the Year 7's had to do 7 but I wanted 3 Sentences Starters for the 3 Subjects, Here is my work!

WALT: Write a story in a time frame 

It was a normal day at school where all we learnt today was math, I was super bored so I decided to not go class and to skip. Hi my name is Lucy and this is my world. I went home and climbed up the tree to get to my room. 

I opened up my window which was fully opened. And climbed in and jumped onto my bed, and wondered. “I wish I could just have my own world-” A thought just went through my brain “Maybe just maybe I can create my own world, a world where you don’t have to be a human, it could be a place where everyone can get together!” I jumped onto my computer and started to create my own world. “I’m so lucky I paid attention in technology!” I put on the VR and dived in. 

I could see the world  between my hands, I grabbed the scissors “Goodbye boring old world!” I built my own lobby where anyone in the world with a VR could come a play! There were easter eggs (The game glitches easter eggs) Challenges, shops and more this was a game well lobby for everyone to play! I was so proud of myself who knew a week later I would be already done with the game. I went out of my way to make a trailer for the game I was so excited! I just couldn’t wait for everyone to play my game!

For this task we had been given a topic and we had to write about it, and this topic was Animal Town. We had 10 minutes to write as much as we could before the time ends!

I was only 10 years old and already playing video games, my favourite game had to be Animal town because I like to enjoy all the animals who are around and pet them. My name is Jordan, and i’m going to tell you about my experience (2 weeks ago)  It was a normal day which the sun was shiny and the bird were chirping, I decide to play a play called Animal Town it was released just a couple of days ago an I was already existed to play! I grabbed my controller, downloaded the game and waited. 

After a while the game has finally downloaded, I just couldn’t wait to play! I opened up the game but nothing happened, like it was glitching? But then the screen turned red and it had the opinions, “New game, Load game, and Extreme” I was confused at first because i’ve ever heard of “Extreme mode” In the trailer. I wondered for a while but I click it. The screen turned black again, It took longer to load- Wait I could see something fading in, all I could read was “ Extreme mode picked, get ready for an adventure” The screen started to turn a bunch of different colors, so I grabbed my controller *Gasp* I gasped and screamed, My hand is fading away into the game, I couldn’t believe my eyes, I tried to wake up but I couldn’t, I ended up passing out. 

I woke up on the streets I thought to myself, “Could I be in the game” The first thing I saw was animal everywhere I couldn’t even bear the chance that I was in the game. “WHAT KIND OF GAME IS THIS??!” Jordan said. I stood up to see animals all around “W-where am I?” I mumbled, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I started to walk around seeing if I knew where I-

The Living Curse

The sun rises showing it’s beautiful colour while the birds sang away peaceful. “Get up guys! It’s moving day!” Said mum.o

“Do we have too?” Said Beth

“Yes you do, come on and get up. Now go get your baby brother.”

“Fine” 

Beth walked to her brothers room and picked him up and took him to the kitchen. “I got him mum” Said Beth “Thank you dear” Mum replied. 

“Daad Lucas it’s pulling my hair again” 

“Oh come on Beth, he’s only a little baby” 

“STILL IT HURT!”

“Grow up. ANYWAYS we need to go pack up, we are moving remember?” 

They finished packing and was now on there way to their new house!

*Beth’s thinking* 

“Who knew it was so beautiful out here! The ocean’s are clear blue and everything seems too perfect to be true. I just can’t wait to see the house.”

Straight after beth through everything could be so perfect the baby started to get car sick and threw up. 

“LIAM THE BABY THREW UP IN THE CAR!” Yelled mum.

“STOP THE CAR DAD.” Yelled Beth.

“Calm down I will.” Said Dad

“EWW I GOT SOME ON ME!” Cried Beth

They wiped up the mess and drove to the house. They arrived at the house was it was ran now like no one has lived in it for 10 years “Maybe it’s better in the inside” Said Mum “I hope so” Said Beth. They slowly opened the door listening to the door creek wide open, it was seriously nice inside like a normal modern house. Beth ran upstairs and claim the 2nd biggest room in the house, she was so happy but disappointed because of the outside of the house.

*I comes to night*

“Beth come down stairs for dinner and bring you baby brother.” Said Dad

“Finally dinner, I am starving!”

“Good night, love you” Mum and Dad said.

Beth suddenly felt a soft hand running down her shoulder, she woke up straight away and looked behind her to find nothing there, she blew it off thinking it was the wind and fell back to sleep to only feel the “Hand” running down her shoulder again. Beth opened her eyes and looked at the windows to see if they were opened but to her surprise the windows were closed. She starting to get scared so she decided to leave her eyes just a little bit open to see if it really was something touching her. She screamed and run out of the room, she couldn’t believe what she saw, she woke up her mum and dad and told them what happened. Beth told him that she saw a tall man, but it wasn’t at the same time, it had grey skin and black holes for eyes, the noise it made when I saw it terrified me, at that point I knew it wasn’t human so I run out. Her Dad went into her room and looked around seeing nothing but boxes and her bed, he even looked under the bed and in the closet and still found nothing. Her Mum and Dad told her to go back to sleep because it was probably nothing. Beth climbed back in bed and tried to go sleep but she just couldn’t, all she could think about what that thing, beth keeped looking at the windows making sure nothing was watching her, before she knew it she was sleeping.

The next day beth started to feel sick so she decides to take a nice warm bath.  As she was taking a bath, she found a bruise on her arm and leg, not knowing where it came from.

“MUUUUM!!” Beth Screamed.

*Mum came rushing to the bathroom*

“What’s the matter hun?”

“I got this bruise on my arm and leg!”

“Okay once you are done with your bath you can tell me about how you got it.” 

“But-” 

*Mum walks out of the Bathroom*

As Beth got out of the bathtub she heard a weird noise coming from outside,  Beth didn’t think anything of it and just blew it off as a cat outside meowing.  She grabbed a towel and dried herself off and walked to her room to get changed into some new clothes, as she walked through the hallway it started to get colder and colder the more she walked towards her room. The door creaked open while blasting cold air into her face. Beth looked around the room to see if the windows were open, and they were! It felt like something off a horror movie. Beth shut the windows and hear a faint whisper saying “YoU lOcKeD mE IN” Chills went down my spine and my mouth became wide. Beth ran as fast as she can out of the room but the door shut, beth tried her hardest to open it but it seems to be locked from the outside. All that she could hear were screams and whispers all around the room! Her eyes started to tear up leaving her scared on the ground crying begging for it to stop…. She fell asleep. Beth woke up not being able to see anything because it was all so blurry, all she could see was a figure of a man standing on top of me, Beth quickly closed her eyes praying to god it will go away, she opened her eyes again to see nothing. She ran out of the room and went to the living room to watch some tv so she could forget what happened that day.  As she was watching Tv she heard a bang from the window beside her, she screamed in shock. She looked out the window to see if there were any kids around trying to pull a funny prank but unfortunately she didn’t find anything or anyone, as she continued watching tv she heard another bang on the window, she looked at the window and still nothing was there but as she went to go look at the tv it was sattick, she started to get scared so she started to walk up the stairs hearing footsteps and baby laughs all around the house. As she kept walking she felt like the floor was going to break because of the creaking. It was so loud… Too loud… She couldn’t hear anything but the screams and cries for help and knocking on every window she was near, she heart was racing and her voice was crippled and her eyes wide. Voices filled her head, telling her to do horrible things! She gave up and stopped.  

Beth Thinking

“It felt cold…. I-i can’t feel my body- WAIT! Where am I? I-i h-haven’t seen this place before.”

Beth looks around

“Its red, but the last thing I remember is being on the couch and…” 

*Beth cries*

I gave up, t-the demon is in control now… He’s in control, how… HOW did this happen!? I need to get out of here, but how do I escape my own body.”

Beth started to walk around but nothing would change, she was still in the same place as it was a loop… She stopped and looked afar.

“Who is that?”

Beth continued to walk together the mysterious person, but she realized it wasn’t a man or lady. It was grey and had black dots of eyes- “Wait! It can’t be, i-it’s the monster! The one that was in my bedroom!” 

Beth ran as fast as she can trying not to be a noise and attract that attention. She ran and ran but it looked like she wasn’t going anywhere at all, the creature looked back and started walking towards her, she froze in shock, she tried to run but she couldn’t, her eyes were locked in with it, she couldn’t take her eyes off how horrible and ugly it was. But then she noticed something, there was blood on its hand and leg. Her heart started racing, all she could think about was “Who was that blood from?”  She broke out of her frozen state and ran. It became dark, and that thing or whatever it was started to glow but glow black, Beth was confused on how that was possible, to glow so brightly even though everything was so dark… It transformed into something unspeakable, it had spikes covering its body with a long tail, it’s teeth were sharper than a knife and its eyes grew bigger well he didn’t have eyes just big black holes, he ran fast like the speed of lighting, I could just see when he went past me- Beth fell on her knees, her face was cut up and 1 of her fingers were missing, she lay flat on the ground as the monster stared at her, he went for the final blow and she was gone.

Beth woke up from that dream crying, rubbing her hands against her face trying to look for the cuts, she realized that it was a dream a crazy dream, but it felt so real… Too real, she got up and went to her mum and started to talk about what happened, as they were talking beth saw something from the corner of her eye, a grey man with big black holes for eyes and sharp teeth.  Beth couldn’t believe her eyes, didn’t didn’t even want to look and see if it was actually the monster from the “Dream” So she Ran…. While at least she tried to run but she fell face first on the ground, her fear took over her body and she just screamed… Her mum grabbed a bat and then looked for Beth. Beth ran into the closet and

WALT:Respect our body

Your body image is people’s perception of your aesthetic or attractiveness towards their own body shape. 

 Most of the time when people don’t like they’re body they take disliking their body shape really seriously, for example, Heavy dieting and working out to your breaking point. If you work out without any breaks you can get to a point where you need to be hospitalised but the worst thing people could possibly do is starving themselves with a very high chance of even dying because of it! Or get a disorder called Anorexia, which most happens to young people around the world usually around the time when they are going through changes which is called Puberty.

Anorexia means lack of eating or loss of appetite. Anorexia is an emotional disorders Characterized by obsessing the desire to lose weight or by wanting to change your body image. Anorexia is a very serious thing which can cause death if isn’t helped properly, even if they try to eat they really can’t, so they have to force it down. 

Moral of the story is, you don’t need to change your body shape unless it’s getting unhealthy for you so you have to change. But changing your body for the approval of others is absurd! You don’t need to change yourself for others just be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else.

WALT:Make things out of wood

For Technology I have chosen to make a Piano for myself. I think this is the best choice because you can keep your money and valuables inside. The piano will be used to hide money, passport, Jewelry and more, this will go in my room on the drawers. For this project I will have to consider how the income is gonna turn out and how safe it is to put my stuff in there. 

While making the Piano i Used the Steel ruler to make a full size drawing of my Piano so I know what it's going to turn out like. After that I used a Tri square to copy the measurements from my drawing onto the wood, and once i've done that I maked a square line (At 90) across and using a pencil to mark it off.  After that I cut off the first piece of wood using a Backed saw and then I marked out the where the joint was gonna be once again using the steel ruler and the trip - Square. And once I drew the joint on the wood I ask the teacher to put a Gauge where the joint was and then cut it with a Back Saw and then I used a Chisel to make the joint. Once i've done that I made cute the 70 piece woods and then added the bottom bit by using the glue, rubber bands and a Backed Saw. After that I got the teacher help and he made the back part of the Piano and the front of it!

This year we've been learning about the Comrade Marathon. For this task we had to do at least 6 facts about the Marathon! Here are some of the facts. Did you know that the fastest time was 5 hours 18 minutes and 19 seconds?! It was from a man in 2016 but the before his the newest record it was from a woman who made it in 5 hours 54 minutes and 43 seconds which was in 1989. 
Another fact is that the Comrade Marathon is a ultramarathon that is 89 kilometres, it is in South Africa and it's between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

German know war with russia means war with france so his army will rush through balgin and then attack france so germany declares war on france. Italy remains calm and doesn’t fight. The cold air breeze brushed through my hair leaving shivers down my spine, kua timata te pakanga… The war has begun.

These days all I could hear where screams and the bloody cries of war! e kore e mutu te whawhai, The war will never end. The men went out to sea, they were going to Egypt but I can’t just stay here and watch people hurt each other! “Ka haere ahau ki te moana me ratou! I will go to sea with them! Whatever it takes! I sneaked onto the boat and went to the storage area where they kept all there stuff for example, Clothes, Weapons, Food and others things. I looked around looking for some fruit but then I stumbled upon a book, well diary. It was by a man named arohahia, I didn’t know who that man was or what he looked like, all I know is that he is one of the 500 men on the ship.

I started to read the “Diary” From this mystery man. “So far it doesn’t seem like the war will ever end, they have guns as we have spears, so much of our kind is dying from the likes of them. E kore e mutu It will never end. I miss my wife and children, I promised them that I will come back but… I doubt it” Then I worried, what do people in war write in their diaries, “They would write about their loved ones and about how the war was going. They would also write about missing there family and other things”

WALA: How to make Toys from Wood

For technology we are making toys and other things like, Trucks, Boats, Planes and other things. The first thing we needed to do was to have a 8 ideas so if we didn't want to do the first one, so we have some backup ideas, i've finished the 8 ideas and now I have to do a blog about what we did and what will I be making.

I have chosen to make a Piano for me and maybe my sibling. I think this is the best choice because you can also lift up the top and hide your valuables and also money. This will also help me hide my money away from my sister- WAIT I CAN HIDE LIKE MY FOOD WAIT NO MY CHOCOLATE IN THERE! So this will also help me hide my Chocolate away from my sisters and brother hopefully.

It will be used as a decoration but also it will be used for my secret stash! This project is taking place at Tamaki College, so I am quite glad that I go to TPS. Also this project will be difficult because of my inexperience but hopefully I don't miss it up!

WALT: Make Clocks

Today for Technology we've finished our clocks. This blog is going to be about the Quality, Improvement and Rating.

I personally liked the clock but it's the stars that piss me off. All of the stars are in the wrong place and the Aries sign was very ugly, so I covered it in a black permanent marker. I made the clock by using MDF for the front, back and sides. Miss Grundy cutted the front, back and sides for us because we would probably mess it up. Before we started to paint we had to craft 4 different ideas for the clock and pick one of them that you like the best. I choose to do a night sky with tree and the moon, I was gonna do my Zodiac sign (Aries) But it ended up trying very not to be rude but ugly so I just covered it lol. 

Next we had to sketch on what we are going to be drawing and then paint it. During paint i've gone through many problems, sometimes the stars would be off so I would have to paint over them and do it all over again and another one is having cover up most of my art work because it didn't turn out right. But overall I would give it a 7 out of 10 (:

Today we are learning about what we is personal information and what is private information. This will help us in the future so we don't get our identity stolen. The reason why we do this as kids is because most kids our age will click on anything etc: "DO YOU WANT MORE COINS" most kids will click yes and they will get scammed.

For this task we has to go onto our blogs and find out somethings about ourselves by only looking at the blog post. THe task wasn't as hard as I thought it was, but because it was that easy to find personal information on my blog that means I would have to think cybersmart while doing a blog post. This is what I found out.

Once we've have done the blog about ourselves we had to do one for a person in our class or school or maybe even from a different school, I decide to do a old friend who used to come to this school and her name is Faafiu. Here is what I found out on her blog.

Today we have been doing a Questionnaire from Manaiakalani all about how we use our netbooks and how does it help us. It was asking questions about Learn Create Share and what we use our netbook for and what learning sites we go on during school time.

This will help Manaiakalani improve and also fix anything that's wrong. But anyways, Learn Create Share is an amazing thing, i've grown up knowing Manaiakalani. Without it I wouldn't have had the opposite to do my learning online.

WALT: Become a better Leader!

Little Reflection 
Today we went to ny/d! It is a place where young student leaders from around aotearoa to become a better student leader.

When we got to the place I saw so many people I just couldn't believe that all those people are student leaders at they're school! But my biggest thought was how can they all fit, well I guess we have to wait and find out! Ms. Aireen went to go get our wristbands. She came back and gave us all 1 wristband, we put them on and then headed off inside.

We took a left because we could see most people were going that way, so we did too! All we could see were people near the toilets so then one of the workers told us to go the other way around because that's where the entry is. We waited for Ms. Kelly to come back and then we waited to go inside. I few minutes later we got to the front of the line, we showed her our wristbands and then walked inside. My eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing, there were so much people inside and half of then are still outside or coming! We sat down in our seats and waited for the program to begin! 

The lights turned off while everyone "OoooOO" 2 people went onto the stage and said they are the host, there names were Liz Alexander and Phil Baker! They told us about the cool things we are going to be doing and thing about themself. Liz told us a story about her and a drama (Play) she was in where she was acting and when one of the actors went to go punch her for the play she pushed herself back, seeming like he hit her hard and then in her mind saying "Maybe I should take this to the next level" so she threw herself over the boat and into the water. After that she didn't feel so good so she went to the sickbay, the teacher came in and said "I know why you are feeling sick, when you threw yourself over the boat the lake you drive in was the poo water from a zoo"  That was the most funniest thing i've ever heard! 

The highlight I had today had to be when King performed it was amazing, because he is one of my favorite singers and also another thing I like is when I got to see Ronnie as well, I used to watch What Now so it was really cool to see him again. One thing i've learnt was to treat someone how you want to be treated by respecting thing and being kind, and another thing is to become a better leader for the school.
